This Sunday, Benfica will look to get back to defeating Estoril Praia on Matchday 29 of the Portuguese Football League to restore Porto and Sporting Braga’s lead.
The Incarnates have lost their last two league games, against Porto (2-1) and Desportivo de Chaves (1-0), and have not won four matches in a row, including games with Inter Milan in the championship. Champions League (one defeat and one draw).
In the worst phase of the season, Benfica hosts Estoril Praia, a team that has come out of two defeats in a row and is in 15th place in the championship, the first to guarantee a direct service.
Roger Schmidt’s team knows that only a win will allow Benfica to regain their four-point lead at the top of the league as they enter the field one point ahead of Porto and three points ahead of Sporting de Braga, the teams that Pacos de Ferreira and Casa Pia have already won this round, respectively.
Also scheduled for this Sunday is a duel between Aroca, fifth with 45 points, and Visela, eighth with 39, important in the fight for European places, in addition to the reception of Gilos Vicente Portimonense and the game between Santa Clara, the last classified, and Desportivo de Chavez.
