A great performance and an honest triumph at home against Rio Ave allowed Boavista to overtake the opponent in the overall standings and, in fact, take 10th place. The Vila Condense team, even with a numerical gap (direct removal of Leonardo Ruiz), reacted in the last minutes. But that wasn’t enough.
Boavista’s panther tackle provided goals for Yusuphe, Bruno Lourenzo and Ricardo Mangas. Luis Freire’s team woke up and Hernani closed the lead. Before the break, Boavista pressed high, always leading the game, but the result did not change. In the second half, the chess players kept their attacking tone. Leonardo Ruiz, who entered the game after the break, abruptly and unnecessarily entered the opponent and was sent off. If it was difficult for Rio Ave to change the direction of the game, it got even worse. Boavista controlled the game but allowed Boateng to cut the score to 3-2 towards the end, keeping the result open until the end.
