The general secretary of the PSOE of La Rioja has declared this Saturday that “we defend La Rioja without complexes where necessary”.

The general secretary of the PSOE of La Rioja, Concha Andreu, has announced that she will claim the Spanish government “the compensation that La Rioja deserves if Euskadi and Navarra receive funds derived from the new taxes on banks and electricity”.
The socialist leader, and also president of the regional government, has made these statements in a Regional Committee that this Saturday is held in Riojaforum (Logroño).
Article 46 of the Statute of Autonomy of La Rioja provides for State compensation for the La Rioja community for the “border effect” implied by the foral regimes of the Basque Autonomous Community and Navarre.
“If they are going to receive benefits for those extra taxes due to their forality, La Rioja is also going to demand it. We deserve this compensation by law. Here we each have our particularity and ours exists,” he insisted, adding that ” We defend La Rioja without complexes where necessary”.
