Euskaraz irakurri: Nafarroako Gobernuak Siemens Gamesaren “konpromiso arduratsua” I hope du

The Counselor for Economic and Business Development of the Government of Navarra, Mikel Irujohas indicated this Tuesday in the Parliament of Navarra that he hopes Siemens Gamesa a “responsible commitment” with his template in Navarreafter Siemens’ takeover bid for 100% of Gamesa.

During a parliamentary appearance, requested by Navarra Suma, Irujo assured that the Government of Navarra has held meetings at different levels with the company’s environment, and also with the unions, and that it will continue to do so. In fact, he has announced that he is working for a meeting “at the highest level” with the new CEO of Siemens Gamesa, to learn the details of Mistral, the company’s new operating plan.

“In all the meetings held and those to come, we have conveyed to the company our concern for the future of the 1,763 people currently employed by Siemens Gamesa in Navarra“, between Sarriguren, Pamplona and Arazuri, and “we are going to continue working firmly, asking the company for a responsible commitment with a staff of people with highly qualified professional profiles and added value”, he said.

As he added, in the context of a “critical situation for the wind sector in Europe”, Siemens Gamesa is a company of “great value and importance” for Navarra, and the Executive intends that the impact of this takeover bid “is as little as possible “.

In favor of this objective, he pointed out that “the company has highlighted the competitiveness of this part of its workforce, and that the workers are not the problem”. At this point, he recalled that, since the merger between the Siemens Group and Gamesa in 2017, the personnel hired in the Foral Community “has increased from 1,335 workers to the current 1,763, not counting the 239 at the Aoiz blade manufacturing plant”.

The Minister also recalled that, of the 1,250 million euros spent on purchases per year in the Spanish State, 240 million have corresponded to operations with Navarran suppliers. It is, in his opinion, data that “endorses the company’s confidence in the Autonomous Community, and its commitment to the good work of the Navarran plants.

Carlos Pérez Nievas, spokesman for Navarra Suma, has stated about it that “the perspective worries us”. He has clarified that it is not only because of the business background, but because of “some partners of this Government”, whom he has reproached for a project that “makes an impossible” wind development with a steppe bird protection plan, “when it also exists, on the part of some, a real interest in the worse the better”.

The unions ask the Government for “real involvement and active commitment” in the defense of employment

Meanwhile, concentrated outside the Parliament of Navarra, the ELA, UGT and CC unions. OO. They have asked the Government of Navarra for its “real involvement and active commitment” in defending employment and working conditions at Siemens Gamesa. As they have denounced, since the “merger” between Siemens and Gamesa “the closures and layoffs have been constant“, and “living with the continuous threat of dismissals has a significant impact on the mental health” of workers, among whom cases of stress and sick leave for this reason are increasingly common.

They have added that, already in June, when a takeover bid by Siemens Energy for Siemens Gamesa to acquire all the shares and control over the latter was made public, they held meetings with the Government of Navarra to express their concern about the future of the company. company. Since then, they have affirmed, the rumors about a possible restructuring with an adjustment of up to 10% of the workforce worldwide have only increased, so they indicate to the Executive that “it is time for deeds, and not for words “.
