Joaquim Sa, 53, died this Saturday following a violent collision between the motorcycle he was riding and a van in Ovar. The motorcyclist was seriously injured and was taken to the Gaia hospital in critical condition. Couldn’t handle the severity of his injuries.
Joaquim Sa was born in Pacos de Brandão, in Feira, and was a member of the Pacos de Brandão folklore group.
The driver of the van was accused of a crime of alcoholism and was detained by employees of the GNR Esmorizh.
Around 4:00 p.m., Esmoris firefighters were given a traffic accident warning on Alexandre Sa Pinto Street in Gondesend, Esmoriz. An ambulance and resuscitation team from Esmoriz was also mobilized to the site.
Rua Alexandre Sá Pinto was closed to traffic for approximately three hours.
