Banco Montepio will pay €400 to €600 emergency support in December to employees with an effective monthly salary of up to €2,500 to cushion the impact of rising inflation, the institution announced this Monday.
“Banco Montepio, taking into account the sharp increase in inflation and the subsequent impact on the lives of families, has approved a set of measures, including one-time and emergency financial support, as well as a review of various benefits, including the issuance in December next year of extraordinary support in the amount of 600 euros for employees with an effective gross monthly payment (equivalent to a holiday or Christmas allowance) up to €1,500 and €400 in the case of an award between €1,500 and €2,500,” the bank said on Monday.
Regarding benefits already in place, Montepio says that the Home Loan Law (through the collective bargaining agreement) has approved an increase in the individual ceiling to 200,000 euros in the new operations of the 2023 ACT process. strengthening the “plafond” of this credit line (to cover more applications from employees) and the possibility of extending the term to 70 years (with a repayment limit of 40 years), “in proven situations of a sharp decrease in family income.”
With regard to school support for the children of employees, the bank announced the resumption for 2023 of supplementary payments at all levels of education, grants for material and living quarters, the payment in December of the financial grant and a quarter of an additional school, and the introduction of a new support called the School Excellence Award “.
“Other measures related to employee loans have also been approved to cushion deteriorating economic conditions, namely the possibility of extensions and access to a multifunctional loan for credit consolidation and financial restructuring,” Montepio promotes.
