A 41-year-old woman suffered 1st degree facial burns on Tuesday evening from a gas explosion in a stove in Pareda, Cascais.
According to Parede fire chief Pedro Araujo, the accident occurred when the victim lit the stove with a match. The aftermath of the explosion left the woman with a burnt face.
The victim was first taken to the fire department and then taken by ambulance to a hospital in Cascais.
There were at least two other people in the house, but only one child was helped there. Since he had no injuries, there was no need to transport the juvenile to hospital.
There were eight operatives from the Parede fire station with three vehicles, two PSP agents with two vehicles, and two gas technicians.
