TVI closes in but misses out on a spectator win again

In April, TVI again approached SIC, but still not the latter managed to seize the lead, held for 51 months in a row. Paço de Arcos’s share fell 0.6 percentage points last month to 15%, while its competitor lost 0.4 percentage points to 14.8%. This leaves the two channels separated by only 0.2 points.

In terms of average viewership, SIC averaged 317,600 daily viewers in April, 4,400 more than TVI (there was a difference of 8,400 viewers between the two channels in March), according to GfK.

Cristina Ferreira’s station said in a statement that it “leads for the week with a 15.8% share versus SIC’s 15.2%.” And he emphasizes: “Festa é Festa continues to be the most viewed telenovela; “Queridos Papas” leads in its timeslot; “Two at 10” and “Goucha” dominate “daytime”; “Vai ou Racha” continues the Affirmation – in the late afternoon; “Em Família” is a Saturday favorite, while “O Triangulo” reigns supreme on Sunday nights.” The group’s channel Impresa, on the other hand, cites that “in the closed third of the year, SIC is strengthening its position as the television of choice for the Portuguese, ahead of direct competition, whose overall results have been declining for the second month in a row.” , and highlights some of his greatest achievements such as “This is a mockery of the one who works”, “Jornal da Noite” or “Fama Show”.

Recall that the two most watched programs in April – the matches between Benfica and Inter for the Champions League – were broadcast by TVI, and each of them on average exceeded 2 million viewers.

RTP 1 also recorded a decline in share, amounting to 10.9%.
