The Basque Country is the third most expensive land area in the State, only behind the Balearic Islands and Madrid, with an average price of 2,513 euros per square meter. Navarra, on the other hand, is close to the state average, with 1,440 euros per square meter, and ranks seventh.

The price of land has followed an upward trend in recent years in Hego Euskal Herria, after reaching its lowest level in 2015.

Regarding the mortgages signed in March, the Basque Country and Navarra occupy the third and fifth position with the highest contracts in the State, with average mortgages of 258,327 and 187,028 euros respectively, well above the state average of 160,000 euros.

In this last aspect, the value of the mortgages signed in the Basque Country has almost recovered the level of the contracts signed in 2007, while in Navarra the amounts of recent years are still much lower than the period prior to the economic crisis.
