The Viajes Eroski brand will be maintained for a certain period of time to favor the transition and integration into the tourist group. The closing of the operation, of which they have not revealed economic details, is scheduled for the end of January.
World2meet (W2M), the travel division of the Iberostar Group, has reached an agreement with the Eroski Group to buy 100% of its travel subsidiary (Viajes Eroski), founded in 1979, with more than 132 points of sale and one staff that is around 300 people.
The acquisition operation is expected to conclude at the end of January of next year, when it is estimated that certain conditions of the agreement are fulfilled, as reported this Tuesday in a statement, in which the economic details of the operation are not revealed.
As part of the agreement, Eroski will give W2M the use of the Viajes Eroski brand for a specific period of time to favor the transition and integration into the tourist group.
Likewise, the online platforms of Viajes Eroski and Travelair for corporate trips will continue to be fully operational.
With the incorporation of the Viajes Eroski network, W2M expands its presence in Spain, which already began with the acquisition of Azul Marino Viajes.
For his part, the corporate director of the Eroski Group, Javier Amezaga, has assessed the agreement to ensure the success and growth of the travel business and guarantee the continuity of the professionals that make it up.
The origin of Viajes Eroski dates back to 1979 and in these more than 40 years it has specialized in the vacation area with two brands, Eroski Viajes and Xplora, with more than 132 points of sale for customer service and an Experiential Store oriented to younger generations.
Also in the corporate area, under the Travel Air brand, with 11 exclusive service centers for the company and a division specializing in the organization of conventions and congresses, Travel Air Events.
W2M is made up of, in addition to World2Fly, Newblue (generalist operator), Icárion (large trips), Úbico (corporate mobility company), The Sphere (boutique service), Dakari (creative experience agency), W2M (bank of beds and receptive), Azul Marino Viajes (agency network), Club Marco Polo (active, adventure and experiential travel tour operator), Flowo (vacation online agency), Escape Home (villa rental), E-North Safaris (receptive in Lapland ) and O7 Hotels (hotel manager).
