Woman missing for 5 days ate candy and drank wine

Lillian, 48, was found after five days of wandering in the forest of Bright, Victoria, Australia. The woman survived by eating lollipops and drinking wine.

Lillian went missing on April 30 after she left her home and was unable to contact her family.

In a note released by the police, Lillian was driving towards Dartmouth Dam when she came across a dead end street. When trying to get back, the car got stuck in the mud, and since he had no cell service, he could not call for help.

“Lillian was found about 60 kilometers from the nearest town, and due to health problems, she could not walk to call for help, so she remained in the car,” explained Sergeant Martin Torpey of the Wodonga police.

According to Martin Torpey, Lillian used “a lot of common sense” to stay in the car and thus help the police find her.

The woman planned a short trip, so she only had lollipops, snacks, but no water. He had a bottle of wine that he bought for his mother.

Heating the car helped to keep warm, and the police recorded the moment of rescue on video.

“After five days in the bush, she felt so relieved and grateful to see us for who we are,” added Martin Torpey.
