This Sunday, Porto became European Roller Hockey Champion for the third time in their history, beating Valonga 5-1 in the Champions League final in Viana do Castelo.
In the final meeting of the “final eight”, which took place in the municipal pavilion of José Natario, the “dragons” scored through Rafa (eight minutes), Carlo di Benedetto (18th and 30th), Goncalo Alves (21st, from a direct free kick ) and Javi Barroso (49), while Miguel Moura (13) scored for the Valongences, who lost a decision for the second year in a row.
More than three decades later, FC Porto has again won the main continental competition for clubs after the 1986 and 1990 conquests, equaling Sporting CP and Voltrega with three trophies, still far from FC Barcelona’s 22 record holders.
