Footballer Lionel Messi returned to training at Paris Saint-Germain this Monday, six days after the club suspended him for traveling to Saudi Arabia without the consent of the French champions.
“Leo Messi returned to training this morning,” the club said on its Twitter account in a message accompanied by a photo of the Argentine ball carrier in training.
The club opened disciplinary proceedings on Tuesday last week after Messi missed training the day before after losing 3-1 to Lorient in the league and was spotted in Saudi Arabia.
The world champion player from Argentina had to go to Saudi Arabia under a contract with the country’s tourist office and for not knowing how he later justified that there would be training last Monday.
“First, I want to apologize to my teammates and the club. To be honest, I thought we would have a day off after the game, like we had in previous weeks,” Messi said in a video posted on social media.
Messi, who is in his second season at Paris Saint-Germain and whose contract is ending, according to the press, should not remain associated with the French champions.
PSG, who lead the league with six points more than Lance with four rounds to go, have Portugal’s Nuno Mendes, Danilo Pereira, Renata Sanches and Vitinho.
