BCP’s profit in the first quarter of this year was 215 million euros, up 90% compared to the result in the first quarter of 2022, the bank announced this Monday.
The bank says the profit increase was achieved “despite the adverse effects associated with Bank Millennium”, a bank that BCP has in Poland and where it had losses related to Swiss franc loans.
Between January and March, BCP had €205.7 million in fees related to its portfolio of Swiss franc mortgages for operations in Poland. On a positive note, also in Poland, he made a profit of 127 million euros from the sale of his stake in Millennium Financial Services.
In consolidated terms, the financial margin (the difference between the amount charged by the bank on loans and fees on deposits) increased by 42.9% to 664.6 million euros.
