The Benfica SAD bond issue was a “success,” said administrator Domingos Soares de Oliveira on Monday during the presentation of the results of the operation, highlighting the strong demand, which was 2.4 times the available 50 million euros.
“This is a successful release. Of the 14 releases we have made, I have never found such a high value. [ao nível da procura, acima dos 121 milhões de euros]. In 2020, the maximum demand reached 70 million euros,” said Soares de Oliveira during a special session at Euronext Lisbon, the manager of the Portuguese stock exchange.
The manager also pointed to more than 6,000 investors (6,048) involved in the operation, while the average of previous offerings was 4,743 subscribers.
“We have a lot more money and a lot more investors,” said the official, who was accompanied to the ceremony by President Rui Costa, who did not want to speak to reporters after the presentation of the results of the proposal.
For her part, Isabel Ucha, president of Euronext Lisbon, congratulated those in charge of Benfica SAD on the operation, saying “demand outstripped supply on the first day.”
The new bond issue from SAD “embodied” has a value of 50 million euros and a term of three years, with an annual interest rate of 5.75%, with an offer split between the acquisition of new subscriptions and a public exchange offer (relative to the previous issue from 2020. ).
