Menopause was once a topic that very few women openly discussed, but these days there are more and more conversations about it.
And now, fast fashion giant Primark is helping to normalize menopause with new clothes available in its stores.
This collection includes sleepwear, underwear and base layers designed to help with some of the common symptoms associated with menopause, such as hot flashes.
As part of the campaign, the brand will also share menopause information with customers in-store and on social media.
Priced between £7 and £12, they use anti-flash technology, cooling yarns, odor control and temperature control to reduce hot flashes and excessive sweating.
With around 13 million women in the UK experiencing perimenopause or menopause, this helpful series is designed with them in mind.
The symptoms of menopause can be very disruptive to your daily life, and dressing appropriately can help alleviate some of the discomfort.
It uses a light and comfortable fabric and has been treated with an antibacterial treatment.
Shorts, swimwear, tops and dresses, the 14-piece series can be worn under other clothing or on its own.
Bralettes and shorts are also available.
Anne-Marie Cregan, Director of Merchandising at Primark, said:
“As part of our overall ambition to support women at all stages of life and break down everyday taboos, specialty products aren’t for everyone or accessible to everyone. I knew it wasn’t and I wanted to change that.
“This range has been in production and testing for two years to ensure we create innovative new products specifically designed to relieve hot flashes, one of the most common symptoms of menopause.
Recycled nylon and recycled polyester are used as materials.
