The Guggenheim closed 2023 with more visits than ever

Euskaraz irakurri: Guggenheimek inoiz baino bisita gehiago izan ditu 2023an

The year we have just said goodbye to has been a record one for the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, which closed 2023 with a total of 1,324,211 visits, 35,074 more than in 2022.

16% of the visits came from France, 7% from Germany, 6% from Great Britain, 6% from the United States and 4% from Italy. The percentage of visitors from Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa was 13% of the total, and 23,329 schoolchildren visited the museum.

Regarding the number of visitors, the exhibitions that have been available in summer stand out: Yayoi Kusama: from 1945 to today, Oskar Kokoschka. A rebel from Vienna and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye. No sunset so intense.

In terms of self-financing, the museum is at around 78% in 2023, according to its management team.
