More than half of the 147 films that Zinebi will screen are directed by women

The 64th edition of the Bilbao International Documentary and Short Film Festival Zinebi will screen a total of 147 films from November 11 to 18, of which 38 are Basque productions (31 short films, two medium-length films and 5 feature films) and more than half of the films presented have been directed by women.

The Festival will kick off on November 11 with the opening gala at the Arriaga theater (7:30 p.m.) and in this edition the honorary Mikeldi de Honor awards will be presented to the Polish filmmaker Agnieszka Holland, already announced, the Catalan Albert Serra and the recently deceased Iñigo Salaberria.

The event, organized by the Bilbao City Council, will last until November 18, when the closing gala and award ceremony will take place. Both galas will be directed for the first time by Maria Goirizelaia and Ane Pikaza.

The Ukrainian film series will offer three short films and three feature films produced in Ukraine after the invasion of the territory of this country by the Russian army in February last year.

The screenings are grouped into two different parts: the Official Section and other screenings.
