Jessie Buckley, Claire Foy and Rooney Mara star in an Oscar-winning drama about a group of women from a religious community discussing their future.
The women of the isolated Mennonite community gather to discuss their future after many of them have been repeatedly sexually abused. They debate whether to stay, fight or leave the community.
We got to see Sarah Polley’s latest directorial work (The stories we tell) at the Toronto International Film Festival and I loved it. In our review, we wrote that the film excelled at its heartbreaking dialogue and cast Jessie Buckley, Rooney Mara and Claire Foy with great performances. No wonder the film is now seen as a hot contender for the Oscars. Buckley and Foy are even considered favorites for Best Supporting Actress.
Unfortunately, women talk no Swiss theatrical release yet. However, since the film is definitely eligible to vote at the Oscars and is scheduled to premiere in January in Germany, we are also looking forward to launching in Germany.
