The star of iconic franchises like Star Wars and Indiana Jones will play the role previously played by William Hurt in the upcoming new Captain America film.
Harrison Ford has Disney Bingo! After Star Wars and Indiana Jones, the actor joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thus, Ford also becomes part of the third major franchise owned by the mouse house.
AT Captain America: New World Orderin which Anthony Mackie (Falcon and Winter Soldier) will embody the titular character, Ford takes on the role of Lieutenant General Thaddeus Ross. The role was previously played by William Hurt in the MCU. Among other things, Hurt was in The incredible Hulk, Captain America: Civil War as well as Black Widow regarded as Ross. After Hurt passed away in March 2022, Marvel decided to recast the role – and it’s doing so with a true star like Harrison Ford.

It is unknown if Ford will also have a role in other MCU films. However, keep in mind that the actor is already 80 years old. How strong Ford is still in his old age, we can see for ourselves next year, when he swings the whip like Indiana Jones for the fifth time. The German-Swiss theatrical release of the latest Indy film will take place on June 28, 2023.
