Superman’s future in the DCEU franchise has long been uncertain. But now actor Cavill has confirmed on his Instagram that he will once again play Krypton’s most famous son.
There’s a bit of a mess going on in the DC Extended Universe right now. While Warner Bros. still looking for the man who, like Marvel’s Kevin Feige, is supposed to set the direction and hence the future of the franchise, new projects are being thrown out non-stop, and it’s not very clear how they ended up in that particular DCEU matchup. Since much is unclear, there were also many question marks behind the future of Superman Henry Cavill, who played the character. Man of Steel, Batman v Superman as well as Justice League played. But now the actor himself has confirmed that he will return to the role.
The Englishman announced this on his Instagram account. Thus, he confirmed what many after the weekend and watching a specific movie thought they already knew. Aside from the fact that we’ll be seeing Cavill again as Clark Kent/Cal Al, the actor has otherwise kept a low profile. So we don’t know if Man of Steel 2 or Superman will appear in another superhero or superhero movie. So the question marks remain. But at least Cavill’s message should reassure many of his worried fans. And it’s worth something.
