Scary stories from Guillermo del Toro always promise good and at the same time frightening entertainment. In his cabinet of curiosities, his ideas are brought to life by the director’s friends.
What is it about
Mexican director Guillermo del Toro opens his Horror Room and invites us to scare and discover corners we’d rather be left alone over the course of eight episodes.
Opening
Directed by Guillermo Navarro
Cast: F. Murray Abraham (amadeus), Glynn Thurman (super 8)
The accident happened at a mine in Pennsylvania. This means that it is assumed that many miners died in an accident. To complete the case, Dr. Carl Winters (F. Murray Abraham), an experienced physician, is called in for an autopsy. He immediately gets to work, cuts the corpses and understands that something is not right here. When one of the cold bodies moves, disaster follows its course.

Outside
Directed by: Ana Lily AmirpourMona Lisa and blood moon)
Cast: Kate MicucciJay and Silent Bob reboot), Martin Starr (Samaritan)
Stacey (Kate Micucci) is a gray mouse in the petty world of beauty products and body creams. Although she is tolerated at the bank, she does not belong to the circle of fashionable women. When she was given a tube of “Alo Glo” lotion for Christmas and Stacey smeared it on, her body went crazy. But as the man on TV talks about eternal beauty, Stacey sets out to carry out her makeover. No matter how much it costs.

The next two terrible hours are over Kunstkamera Guillermo del Toro there and take the horror on a light shoulder. While the series’ third episode with F. Murray Abraham on camera is a veteran who knows exactly how to tame those storylines, comedian Kate Micucci has a bit more difficulty in her story. Then a bit of patience is required, and the resolution isn’t the culmination of it all either.
Two slightly weaker episodes that Guillermo del Toro presents to us here. Both episodes still have their value and show interesting aspects. Whether it’s guts falling out of your body, a cleaver in your back, or your own physical injury, the horror series also has a lot to offer fans in its milder moments.
Summary of the third and fourth episodes
While the first two episodes were creepy and disgusting, the third and fourth episodes take a small step back. However, they are worth seeing and fit perfectly into the somewhat whimsical world of Guillermo del Toro, who wonderfully presents us with individual stories and introduces them to gadgets out of his curiosity.
Kunstkamera Guillermo del Toro starts today exclusively on Netflix. Two new episodes are released every day.
