After a 13-year wait, the sequel to James Cameron’s sci-fi tale is finally out in December – and if reports are to be believed, you’re getting a lot of movies for your money.
It’s hard to believe that less than two months are left before the movie’s premiere in theaters. Avatar: Path of Water away. So the long wait will soon be over. As the Hollywood Reporter reports, we can expect epic again, especially when it comes to length.
Was the first avatar 161 minutes long, “Way of the Water” should be a whopping 190 minutes – that’s three hours and ten minutes. This term is not officially approved. However, it has started to spread ever since the US age rating was announced. Like the debut, the sequel will have a 13+ rating in the US.
This long time should create problems for many cinemas. If the film is so long, it can only be shown on the screen two or three times a day. Multiplex cinemas have the advantage, which can then show the film on multiple screens. This is probably one of the reasons why other studios have their own blockbusters (for example, Shazam! Fury of the gods) subtracted from Christmas 2022 sales. Because if “Avatar 2” is on many screens, it will be difficult for other films.
In addition to this possible timeline, information has also been leaked as to when we will see the new trailer. It should be this Wednesday. As soon as the second official trailer is released, you will of course find it here. To cheer you up, we’ll show you the first trailer again below.
Avatar: Path of Water will open in Swiss cinemas on December 14, 2022.
