Since success The evil dead movie 2013. Soon there were calls for another film. Over the years, franchise father Sam Raimi in particular has also thought about how the bloody saga could continue. Among other things, a direct sequel to the 2013 film and a sequel were filmed. Dark army discussed. It seems that both ideas were rejected and the story is told in The Evil Dead Rise now just a new story about a sinister book.

Here’s the official synopsis: In the fifth Evil Dead movie, Beth pays a welcome visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three children alone in a cramped Los Angeles apartment. However, the sisters’ reunion is interrupted by the discovery of a mysterious book in Ellie’s house. This spawns demons and plunges Beth into a struggle for survival against the most nightmarish form of motherhood.

The production has finally released the first shot from the movie (see above), which of course makes it pretty clear that the fake blood was not used sparingly on set.

The Evil Dead Rise scheduled for release in US theaters on April 21, 2023. There is no release date in Switzerland yet.
