With a new additional takeout restaurant called CosMc, McDonald’s aims to make its food and beverage offerings even more exceptional.
The fast-food retailer is hoping to tap into the Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts market, as well as lunchtime pickup demand, with its beverage-focused chain of stores.
A pilot project will open this month in Bolingbrook, Illinois, and 10 more will be launched in Texas next year.
Moving away from traditional burgers and fries, CosMc’s menu will be “drink discovery-driven,” including “specialty sodas and teas, delicious shakes and iced coffee,” the company said.
We look at alien offerings.
What’s on the new CosMc menu?
Drinks include a wide selection of specialty lemonades, teas, iced coffees and mixed drinks such as Churro Frappe, Sour Cherry Energy Burst, Tropical Spiceade, Blueberry Ginger Boost, Turmeric Spice Latte, Berry Hibiscus Sour-ade, Chai Frappe Burst and S ‘mores cold. Brew.
They can be personalized with fizzy beans, flavored syrups, energy supplements or shots of vitamin C.
Those looking to eat as well as drink can choose from a limited selection of edibles.
These include: Creamy Avocado Tomatillo Sandwich, Spicy Queso Sandwich, Donut Style McPops, Pretzel Bites, Savory Hash Brown Bites, Twist Cone Ice Cream, Caramel Fudge Brownie, Caramel Fudge Brownie Ice Cream and Cookies .
But even if that’s a bit much for a loyal McDonald’s customer, there are still a few familiar faces on the menu: the Egg McMuffin sandwich and the M&Ms McFlurry.

What else will be different at CosMc locations?
In addition to the new menu style, CosMcs will also lead the way in digital and drive-through delivery services.
Customers are encouraged to use dynamic menu boards and cashless payment devices to order and pay. Pickup will be scheduled based on the complexity of the order as soon as it is ready.
Who is CosMc?
CosMc is an ancient alien character from McDonaldland who first appeared in a 1987 advert called “The Story of CosMc”. In the commercial, a silver object from outer space arrives in McDonaldland.
It features an orange alien with six arms, a blob-shaped head, and sneaker-clad feet.
The alien appears again in a 1989 commercial and in a 1992 Nintendo video game, but then appears to disappear into space until it is finally reincarnated for McDonald’s latest “3:00 p.m. slump” venture.
