Roberta Metsola in Lisbon attacks PCP and Chega

The President of the European Parliament (EP) made an appeal against extremism in the Assembly of the Republic this Friday and criticized the PKP for opposing the EU position on Ukraine. Visiting Lisbon, Roberta Metsola said: “I am here to urge people, especially young people, not to succumb to easy cynicism.”

In response to PKP MP Paula Santos, who said “we need to stop fueling and fueling war in Ukraine and open up opportunities for negotiations” and accused the EU of providing “millions for weapons”, Metsola urged her to say the same “in front of Ukrainian deputies. Talk to those deputies who don’t talk to women for weeks, whose children cannot go to school. . No more, no less”.

As for André Ventura’s position on migration, he recalled that “it is even safer for millions of people to go on board and face death (…). We are talking about people,” Metsola said.
