British actress and singer Jane Birkin has been found dead at her home in Paris, Le Parisien newspaper and BFM television reported on Sunday, citing people close to her. He was 76 years old.
The singer was best known for the 1969 hit “Je t’aime…moi non plus”, which she performed with Serge Gainsbourg.
According to Reuters, France’s culture ministry said the country had lost a “timeless icon of the Francophonie”.
Jane Birkin suffered a stroke in 2021 after suffering from heart problems in previous years. He has lived in France since the late 60s and, in addition to singing and appearing in dozens of films, has been a popular figure in the fight for women’s and LGBT rights.
