Pre-trial detention of a suspect in the arson of a house in Sabros

A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of setting fire to a house in Sabros and placed in preventive detention, Vila Real’s Judicial Police (PJ) said Thursday.

The SP statement says that the facts occurred on July 16 at around 11:00 pm, when the defendant “set fire for vain reasons.”

It is alleged that the man set fire to the bedroom in his own house in Souto Maior, municipality of Sabros, where he lived alone.

Suspected of committing the crime of arson of the city, the defendant appeared for judicial interrogation, he was subjected to the most severe measure of restraint – pre-trial detention.

The arrest was made by the Criminal Investigation Department of Vila Real GP.
