GPR soldier attacked with a bottle on his head in Sintra

Late in the afternoon on Thursday, a GNR soldier was treacherously attacked with a glass bottle on his head by a man who was watching the riots in a cafe in Dona Maria in the municipality of Sintra. The attacker was detained by the military, but eventually released with a notice to appear in court this Friday.

As confirmed cm A GNR official source, a soldier from the Peruvian post Pinheiro was treated on the spot, as he is considered slightly wounded.

Everything happened at 19:45. The patrol came to the situation of aggression between two persons next to the cafe. About 40 people arrived at the scene, and in an attempt to resolve the situation, the military was hit on the head with a bottle.

A reinforcement team was sent to the scene and intervened and apprehended the 47-year-old assailant.
