Highway 23 (A23) between the southern nodes of Castelo Branco and the exit to the city’s hospital is cut off from north to south due to a car accident in which one person was seriously injured and four were slightly injured.
Lusa Agency, a source at the Beira Baixa Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Defense Directorate, said that both the seriously injured man, a 29-year-old man, and other victims were taken to the Amato Lusitano hospital in Castelo Branco. .
The same source adds that operations are currently underway to “remove the wreckage and the vehicle.”
The alarm was raised at 10:35 a.m. and 17 operators and seven support vehicles were mobilized to the scene, according to the website of the National Emergency Management and Civil Protection Administration.
