A 48-year-old man is suspected of killing another man with a machete this Wednesday morning at a farm in Cortisadas de Lavre, in Montemor o Novo, Evora District.
A 45-year-old victim was found to have several blows to the body and upper limbs, the arm was cut off from the forearm and was located five meters from the half-naked body below the waist.
The alarm came early in the morning, at 7:40.
The victim’s car was on a dirt road leading to the farm, and the black sneakers had dropped down along with the socks, as if they had been left there on purpose.
The initial warning was filed by the people, indicating that the owner of the premises may have caught the victim in a robbery. The result was the death of the assailant, but when the authorities arrived on the scene and began an investigation, this thesis was abandoned.
People say that there was an extramarital affair between the wife of the owner, a SATA pilot, and the victim, and that this was the cause of the extremely brutal murder.
At the moment, the investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Judicial Police of Évora.
The aggressor has been detained and is awaiting the development of the process.
