The southern and northern coasts of Madeira island will be under a yellow warning on Friday and Saturday due to spells of rain forecast, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) said.
The yellow warning, issued as periods of rain turning to showers, sometimes heavy, are forecast, will be in effect from 9pm Friday until 6am Saturday.
The IPMA issues a yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, whenever a risk situation arises for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation.
The Institute forecasts for this Thursday in the Madeira archipelago periods of very cloudy weather, light showers, especially on the northern slopes and highlands of Madeira Island, and light to moderate winds from the north, sometimes strong.
In terms of temperature, Funchal and Porto Santo will record a minimum of 21 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 27 degrees this Thursday.
