This Thursday, Mozambique’s Energy Regulatory Authority announced a price cut for cooking gas of almost 7% and maintained prices for other fuels.
“Import invoices are showing a downward trend to levels that have allowed these levels to drop,” Paulo da Graça, president of the regulator, said in a media statement.
Cooking gas goes from 102.02 metics (1.5 euros) to 95.04 metics (1.4 euros) per kilogram, and the price goes into effect on Friday.
Prices for other types of fuel remained unchanged.
The approved values “take into account government-approved mitigation measures,” the regulator said in a statement.
“In general, the international oil derivatives market is still considered fragile and unpredictable,” he concluded.
