An activist clings to a TAP plane taking off from Lisbon to Porto

The climate activist was stuck on a TAP plane this Wednesday during the Lisbon-Porto flight. The collective provided the information in a statement and accuses the airline industry of “blatantly killing thousands of people with useless flights.”

“Continuing these flights is an act of madness, it’s like watching our house burn and pouring gasoline on the fire. This type of wasteful flights must be the first thing to stop in the genocidal aviation industry encouraged by our Government to continue its expansion,” said Alice Gato, a member of the group.

In recent weeks, environmental activists at Climáximo have held several controversial awareness campaigns. Throwing paint at ministers, blocking roads and destroying buildings associated with large companies, the young people collectively promise not to stop until their demands are heard.
