The law firm representing Anna Martemucci said the screenwriter’s defense team “never offered any monetary settlement to settle this case, nor did they ever offer to maintain any confidentiality in exchange for money.”
Nuno Lopez’s lawyer, Rute Oliveira Cerodio, countered on Tuesday that the American’s defense viewed the monetary agreement as “a condition to avoid filing a lawsuit.” The actor “does not admit any guilt and will not pay any amount,” assured Rute Oliveira Seródio.
“He prefers to defend his good name and honor, which he will do in court, even in New York Federal Court at inevitable financial costs,” he added.
On Tuesday, Anna Martemucci filed a lawsuit against Nuno Lopez. The screenwriter claims the actor drugged her and took her to his apartment to rape her in New York during the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival.
