The National Telecommunications and Audiovisual Workers (Sinttav) and Independent Information and Communications Workers (SITIC) unions announced this Friday new strikes at RTP, starting on Saturday and lasting until 5 December.
In a statement, Sinttav said it had given RTP “seven days’ advance notice of a strike, covering all employees of the company, starting from 00:00 on November 25, 2023 until 23:59 on November 1.”
On the same note, SITIC said it had also issued a “seven-day strike notice” to RTP, which applies equally to all workers, but this time “commencing from 00:00 on November 29, 2023 until 23:59 on December 5.” .
The strike for all types of work on public holidays, as well as for all overtime work, remains in force indefinitely.
In recent weeks, RTP workers have carried out regular strikes.
The goal is to force the Board of Directors to engage in dialogue with unions to strengthen professional retraining of workers (which, according to unions, is the only way to advance in a state-owned company) and increase wages in 2023.
