Deputies on Tuesday approved a proposal to amend the Open State Budget 2024 (OE2024), which provides for the creation of an emergency housing fund.
“In the first quarter of 2024, an Emergency Fund for Housing Construction is created, to which 25% of the income from the amount of 1.1 of the General Stamp Tax Table is allocated,” determined the proposal approved by the Budget and Finance Committee by votes against I.L. and Chega, abstain from SDP, PKP and VE and vote for the other parties.
According to the Livre initiative, the Emergency Housing Fund is responsible for “providing emergency support to those who are homeless and have no alternative solution, namely guaranteeing the payment of temporary housing”, as well as “providing support in paying the rent due.” as a result of the rental or subletting of housing or the provision of credit intended for the acquisition, works or construction of own and permanent housing to eligible households in accordance with the applicable rules.”
