This Wednesday, PSP announced that in connection with the match between Benfica and Inter Milan, scheduled for the 5th round of the group stage of the Champions League, an operation will be carried out at the Da Luz Stadium in Lisbon, scheduled for 20:00 to ensure safety. .
The event, considered “high risk”, which is expected to attract around 57,000 people with doors opening at 6pm, will end with some traffic restrictions from 5pm to 11pm., in the following arteries:
Visiting fans’ trip to Estádio da Luz stadium:
- Start – Av.ª Colégio Militar (next to the exit from the metro station of the same name)
- The end – exit from the 2nd circle to Avª. Military College – entrance to the TV complex
- Return (after the game):
- Start – exit from the 2nd circle to Avª. War College – Comprehensive TV Output
- End – Av.ª Colégio Militar (near the exit of the metro station of the same name)
Traffic on Av.ª Colégio Militar will be restricted whenever fans need to travel between the metro station and the entrance to the TV complex.
At this event, the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP will present a police device that will be considered appropriate to the circumstances, which includes several PSP capabilities, such as: personnel of the district police department, the traffic department, the metropolitan sports information department, rapid response teams, preventive measures. immediate response teams and strengthening of the Special Police Unit.
The main task of the security guard with the help of this device is to guarantee the safety of people and cargo both inside and outside the sports complex, maintaining public order, as well as minimizing the impact of road conditions necessary for this security operation.
PSP advises fans to travel to the Estadio Da Luz by public transport, avoiding the approach of their vehicles in advance, given the high turnout at the stadium and the need to carry out the necessary security procedures.
The authorities urge fans coming to the stadium to comply with the rules of fair play, avoid actions that jeopardize the safety of third parties, as well as disrupt public order and tranquility, and comply with the instructions of the police officers on duty there.
