Labor Minister Ana Méndez Godinho guaranteed in Parliament on Tuesday that the Social Security Service is ready to activate the wage guarantee fund for workers of the Global Media group if the companies take advantage of this mechanism.
“Social security will be ready to activate the wage guarantee fund if companies use this mechanism, as we know, for this to happen, companies need to activate the mechanisms necessary for this purpose,” assured the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security.
Ana Méndez Godinho is heard in Parliament at the request of the PCP and BE about the situation in the Global Media group, which covers publications such as Diário de Notícias, Jornal de Notícias, TSF and others, and which has expressed its intention to lay off up to 200 workers.
