“Carles left us. He was a smiling man, always active, he passionately enjoyed everything he did, especially motorcycles,” the statement quoted El Español as saying.
The Spaniard’s team explains that the damage caused by the accident was “irreversible.” Carles suffered cerebral edema and broke a vertebra in a fall.
“He died fulfilling a dream, racing in Dakar. He enjoyed life, he was happy on the bike.”
Carles Falcon (KTM) was in a “serious condition” after falling during the second stage of the 46th Dakar Rally off-road between Al-Henakiya and Al-Duwadimi in Saudi Arabia, he told the organization.
