Pedro Nuno Santos was greeted with music and good luck wishes at the Angueiras market.

This Sunday, the Secretary General of the PS was received with music and wishes of “good luck” at the Angueiras market in the municipality of Matosinhos, a socialist bastion, where he confirmed his commitment to support regionalization in the next legislature.

Anjeiras, a fishing area in Matosinhos, was a campaign site in the 2011 presidential elections with Manuel Alegre, as well as for previous Socialist leader António Costa in 2015. The team of Pedro Nuno Santos could not do without this electoral point, which always guarantees a good reception for the Secretary General of the PS.

This morning, before the lunchtime rally in Matosinhos, Pedro Nuno Santos was at the market of this traditionally socialist parish, accompanied by Mayor Luisa Salgueiro, the head of the PS list in Porto, Francisco Assis, and several parliamentary candidates from this constituency. .

A popular singer, well known locally, approached the socialist leader and, with a microphone in his hand, began to sing: “Good luck, good luck, I wish you with all my heart.” Soon, dozens of PS supporters and supporters also began singing the chorus of the song.

Taking to the streets, Pedro Nuno Santos made brief statements to journalists and, as happened on Saturday in Lamego, he again refused to comment on governance scenarios after the March 10 legislative elections.

When asked whether absolute majority is a prohibited standard for PS, Pedro Nuno Santos rejected the idea that there are prohibited words.

“Now in this campaign we and the people, without intermediaries. No one can beat PS in this. We have a relationship of intimacy and trust. I’m focused on winning to stop the various right wing advances. wing groups,” he said.

Asked about the PS’s promise to regionalize the continental territory, the Socialist leader said that this commitment was included in the party’s election program for the next legislature.

“We know that the country is better governed when we are closer to the people. This happened at the municipal level, but there is a lack of regional intermediate power. A referendum on regionalization is laid down in the Constitution, it will have to be held,” he said. but we don’t want to miss another opportunity,” he added.
