Ukraine considers voting in Russian presidential elections in the occupied territories illegal

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry considered voting in the Russian presidential elections in the occupied territories illegal and invalid, calling on international partners not to recognize the results, the department reported this Thursday. Reuters.

In its statement, the Ukrainian government expressed regret over “constant and blatant disregard for the norms and principles of international law” observed throughout the election campaign in the territories occupied by Russia.

Voting will take place from March 15 to 17. In addition to the current Russian President Vladimir Putin, Leonid Slutsky from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), Nikolai Zharitonov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and Vladislav Davankov from New People are running.
