“Sometimes we are surprised by the distances that sick elderly people or children travel. Nothing is impossible, even on steep and sloping terrain, as in this case,” says François Daoust, former director of criminal investigations of the gendarmerie. Even the fact that searches took place in this place and did not reveal the presence of a child is not strange. “The vegetation was thick at that time. Soil analysis, including what remains of the skeleton, especially the skull, will now be critical to reaching point zero: the site where the child fell or was placed. Only then will it be known whether it was a crime or an accident.
