The 44-year-old man who was stabbed by another man in a cafe in Bordeira, Faro, is a naval soldier assigned to the Lisbon naval base. He is recovering at home after surgery. During the attack, he was stabbed 11 times in various parts of his body. Two defendants, 18 and 23 years old, are in pre-trial detention.
The incident occurred on March 22 in the cafe of the victim’s wife. One of the defendants got into an argument with a soldier because he refused to serve coffee after the store closed. The suspect left the area and then returned with his brother and two others. They punched the victim, after which one of the accused stabbed the soldier with a pocketknife. The investigation is being carried out by the DIAP prosecutor’s office in Faro.
