The Judicial Police (PJ) arrested on Thursday two suspects who are “seriously charged” with committing an aggravated robbery with a firearm in a cafe in Povoa de Varzim, in the Porto area, as announced this Friday .
In a statement, the investigative authorities said that two detainees, aged 23 and 41, are suspected of posing as customers on July 17, 2023, entering the cafe with two pistols, which they hid in their clothes, and demanding “all the money in the cash register.” will be handed over to them.
According to the SP, after checking that there was no money in the establishment, “they confiscated electronic equipment that was in the possession of two customers and then fled the scene.”
One of the detainees, the text says, has a criminal record for crimes against state power, receiving and storing prohibited weapons.
The two men will be brought to the judicial authorities for judicial questioning and enforcement measures.
