AD’s European Championship campaign starts in the Algarve and will have “active participation” from Montenegro and PSD/CDS leaders.

The AD campaign for Europeans will begin during the official period in the Algarve and end in Madeira and Lisbon, with “active participation” expected from PSD President and Prime Minister Luis Montenegro and other coalition leaders. .

Since the official presentation of the list at the end of April, led by independent Sebastian Bugalho, the “Wagon to Europe” caravan has already passed through 14 constituencies, according to campaign manager, PSD deputy and former Secretary of State Emidio Guerreiro. , including the only four that will be eliminated in the next two weeks (Braganca, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo and Portalegre).

Even before the official campaign period, which runs from May 27 to June 7, the Democratic Alliance campaign (the electoral coalition uniting PSD, CDS-PP and PPM) will hold a “big launch dinner” on Friday. – a fair in Mafra, at which Miguel Pinto Luz, vice-president of the PSD and Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, will speak.

The leader of the list will be in the Azores on Saturday, with a trip to Madeira scheduled for the morning of the last day of the campaign.

According to Emidio Guerreiro, the campaign will focus on contacts with the population, and outreach talks, as well as lunches or rally dinners, will be rare, on days with three to five agenda items and which in most cases end with an initiative in the late afternoon.

The participation of Luis Montenegro and other leaders of the PSD or CDS-PP will be announced throughout the campaign, as happened in the legislative elections due to the presence of former leaders of the two parties.

The AD caravan starts in Olhão and Faro on Monday and passes through the Beja and Évora districts, returning to the road on Wednesday after a day in Lisbon for the latest televised debate with the eight party list leaders represented in parliament.

On May 29, the day begins in the Setubal district and ends in Santarem with a visit to the medieval fair of Torres Novas, which the next day passes through three districts: Coimbra, Castelo Branco and Guarda, as well as Leiria and Aveiro until May 31.

On the only weekend of the official election campaign, Sebastian Bugalho will be in the districts of Porto and Braga on Saturday, and in Aveiro and Viseu on Sunday, the day of early voting for Europeans, for which Luis Montenegro has already said he will be training.

Following the final eight-person radio debate on the morning of June 3, the AD caravan will spend the rest of the day in Lisbon, with the second week of the campaign focusing on the most populous coast, passing through areas of Lisbon. Coimbra, Leiria and Braga.

The last two days, as usual in PSD campaigns, will be concentrated in Porto and Lisbon, with the head of the list leaving for the autonomous region of Madeira last Friday morning.
