In a conversation with Lusa, a source from the territorial command of Portalegre PPR explained that currently, at 17:00, another crane is on site, the third one that needs to be mobilized, and is carrying out operations to evacuate the car, but “there are no forecasts” for the resumption of road traffic .
The same source explained that the 40-ton truck was transporting empty glass bottles.
The GNR source also indicated that although a solution has not been found for this case, motorists have alternative routes EN246 and EN243.
According to the subregional command for emergencies and civil protection of Alto Alentejo, eight operators are currently involved in relief operations, assisted by four vehicles.
