‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor dies in shark attack in Hawaii

Actor and surfer Tamayo Perry died Sunday after being attacked by a shark while surfing in Honolulu, Hawaii. The 49-year-old artist gained the greatest fame thanks to his participation in the film “Pirates of the Caribbean”.

Emergency services were called to Malaecahana beach at 13:00 local time (00:00 mainland Portugal), the BBC reported.

However, the actor, who also worked as a lifeguard, was declared dead after being rescued from the sea on a jet ski.

Perry took part in the fourth film of the most famous pirate saga on the big screen. The 2011 film is a reference to the career of Johnny Depp (Jack Sparrow as the character) and stars Penélope Cruz or Geoffrey Rush.

Perry also had roles in the TV series Hawaii SWAT and Charlie’s Angels 2.

He was born on the island of Oahu and has been surfing professionally for over ten years.
