North American voters who watched the Biden-Trump debate gave the former president an overwhelming victory (67% to 33%). Trump’s victory in the confrontation with the current US President is explained by the fact that even among the Democrats, Biden’s performance was not convincing.
According to a CNN poll that organized the debate, 96% of Republican voters credited their candidate with victory, while on the Democratic side, only 69% credited Biden with victory.
Although the network notes that the poll reflects only the views of viewers and not the electoral universe, it is clear that the Republican candidate for the White House has done better. Another striking example is the fact that 36% of respondents now express more confidence in Trump’s ability to return to lead the country, compared with just 14% of those who express the same feeling about Biden.
