Andre Villas-Boas holds off Diogo Costa and ‘frees’ Francisco Conceicao

Andre Villas-Boas made it clear on Tuesday that between selling Diogo Costa and Francisco Conceição, the choice falls on the latter. “Diogo’s work should be praised. He is one of Porto’s greatest assets and we are not interested in getting rid of him. We want him to continue to grace the colours of FC Porto with dignity, and I think that will be the case,” the Porto president commented on the goalkeeper’s performance for the national team in the 1/8 finals of the European Championship.

During a visit to the Porto City Council, Villas-Boas was also asked about Francisco Conceição and the answer was different: “We are obliged to achieve some success because of the UEFA rules. We are aware of the value of our assets and the moment when a club approaches us will always be considered. At the moment, we have not left.”
